under（在下面用英语怎么说）

今天的天气特别好，万里有一朵小云，飘着一点点微风。于是我轻轻的走到了那片云的下面，因为我要引出今天的词组under a cloud。

“under”是在下面，“cloud”是云，那“under a cloud”是啥？

1. Under a cloud

“under a cloud”是“在云下面”吗？你猜是好事还是坏事呢？

英文解释：It means you are not trusted or popular because people think you have done something bad.

字面看上去虽然看起来就表示在云下面，但是它经常被引申为不被信任，被怀疑做了什么坏事的时候，比如你看看下面这个案子：

①The teacher is under a cloud because the inspectors found that he took bribes.

老师受到怀疑，因为检查人员发现他受贿。

如果经常看侦探片，或者是警匪片的小伙伴，经常会听到下面这句话。在没有找到真正的杀手之前，我们都有嫌疑，你可以这么说：

②We’re all under a cloud until the real killer is found.

在找到真正的凶手之前，我们都有嫌疑。

③Someone stole some money in the office, and now everyone is under a cloud of suspicion. Even the director is under a cloud.

有人在办公室偷了一些钱，现在每个人都有嫌疑。就连总监也不例外。

2. Under one’s wing

好了，现在从云的下面，咔咔轻轻地走出来了，然后找到了一只鸟，把我的头放在了她的翅膀下面。

又引出下一个词组，under one’s wing。

其实这个词组意思很好猜，wing是表示翅膀的意思，在中文中我们经常会说，把孩子护在羽翼之下，也就是表示关心照顾某人。

比如说很多人羡慕的富二代，他们就一直是在自己父母的精心照料下成长为又一个富豪。

①- Tomorrow is my first day at work. I feel a little nervous.

– Come on, your brother is the CEO of the company. You are under his wing.

– 明天是我第一天上班。有点小紧张。

– 拜托，你哥是公司的CEO，有他庇护你！（怕个啥？）

②I‘m grateful to my aunt. She took me under her wing since my parents died in a car accident three years ago.

我很感激我的姑妈。自从我父母三年前死于车祸以来，她一直照顾着我。
